WEEK OF LUNCHTIME LENTEN ORGAN RECITALS IN MADISON

Lunchtime Lenten Organ Recitals

Dr. Anne Matlack, organist/choir director at Grace Church, Madison, announces the summer organ series as part of the second week of the  20th anniversary of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey’s Summer Festival. The organ keyboard and pedalboard are projected on the wall for an excellent view of the performers by the audience.

*Monday will open with Dr. Matlack playing a program of Buxtehude and Brahms.

Tuesday, August 9, Jennifer Yang, will perform Pachelbel, Bach, and Widor. Yang is a graduate of Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, and holds a Master’s degree in organ performance from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, where she won second prize winner  in the 2003 and 2007 graduate organ competitions.

Wednesday features Madison’s acclaimed Helen Raymaker on piano, performing Shostakovitch & Bach.

Thursday, August 11, John Pivarnik, Director of Music at St. Peter’s in Essex Fells, will perform a program entitles “You can’t keep a good man down” featuring some piano works for left hand which he enjoyed practicing after recent shoulder surgery. 

On Friday, Dr. Anne Matlack, concluding her 25th anniversary year at Grace Church, will close out the with a Baroque smorgasbord including including the help of some more musician friends.
