JD Wilkes
with Fellow Rockabilly Renegade Dex Romweber
JD Wilkes, best known as frontman of the Legendary Shack Shakers, is hitting the road with fellow rockabilly and garage rock titan Dex Romweber.
In addition to continued work with Legendary Shack Shakers, Wilkes funnels his electric performance style into a solo project that hearkens back to traditional old-time and bluegrass material, featuring acoustic banjo, vocals and his signature harmonica playing.
A prolific visual, recording and performance artist, JD has been performing for over 25 years and has been called the "last great rock 'n roll frontman" by Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys. His new collaborative album Cattle in the Cane, out now on Arkam Records, features virtuosic performances from both JD as well as Charlie Stamper, son of legendary Kentucky fiddler Art Stamper.
