Olivia Nice with Matthew SeelyWinner of multiple Obie Awards, Sam Shepard’s dramedy unfolds in a motel room in the Mojave Desert in which we find the continuously bickering former lovers May and Eddie. There, they unravel their tangled relationship, almost tearing each other apart. A dark exploration into love and family, Fool for Love shows us how our pasts surely come back to haunt us. Following on from Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins, Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage, and Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, this summer focuses on the theme of the “Other.” Each of the four shows delves into the other side of a story or character and brings the audience to a deeper understanding of human nature. The theater goers will come away with a souvenir – a new perspective on what was once an old familiarity and an appreciation of the differences in all of us.

Fool for Love, directed by Ogemdi Ude ’16, will feature:

  • Olivia Nice as May
  • Matthew Seely as Eddie
  • Jake McCready as the Old Man
  • Conor McElwee as Martin
