PAINTING, DRAWING & CLAY CLASSES COMMENCE @ FARMSTEAD ARTS CENTER

Painting, Drawing and Clay Classes

Including Intro to Drawing, Colored Pencil Drawing, Outdoor Studio Landscapes, Advanced Drawing, All levels/age 16+, Ceramic Studio Art Classes for ages 10 through adult

WHERE: Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge

Registration is now open for winter painting, drawing and clay classes  taught by Doug Schiller, and Play with Clay classes are taught by Debbie Limoli.

Intro to Drawing with Doug Schiller
TUITION:
$150 for 6 week class, all supplies included
WHEN: Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 AM, Jan 19 through Feb. 23, 2016
This class will introduce students to the fundamental principles of drawing as they gain confidence in their drawing skills and have fun in doing so. Work with a variety of drawing materials and learn to create convincing 2D imagery of the 3D world. No previous experience required.

Outdoor Studio Landscapes with Doug Schiller
TUITION:
$150 for 6 week class, all supplies included
WHEN: Thursdays, 1 PM – 3 PM, January 21 – February 25, 2016
Students will create outdoor landscapes indoors as they translate their 3D world onto a 2D picture plane. An understanding of compositional elements, shading, color and perspective will help develop spatial appearances working with a variety of dry 2D drawing materials that will amaze both artist and viewer. Photographic references and imagination will supplement direct observation. All levels welcome.

Advanced Drawing with Doug Schiller
TUITION:
$150 for 6 week class, all supplies included
WHEN: Tuesdays,  Jan. 19 - Feb. 23 from noon - 2 PM
This class will help students gain a greater understanding and command of drawing materials and techniques. Light and shadow, line, value distinctions, composition and perspective will be explored. Individual instructor guidance on still lives, landscapes and personal imagery.

Colored Pencil Drawing with Doug Schiller
TUITION: 
$150 for 6 week class, all supplies included
WHEN: Thursdays Jan. 21 through Feb. 25, 2016 from 1 - 3 PM
Explore the wide range of drawing possibilities using watercolor
colored pencils. From traditional uses to more contemporary
applications students will observe forms and use pencils and brush
working with still life arrangements, photographic references and
personal imagery. All levels welcome.

Play with Clay Ceramic Studio Art Classes with Debbie Limoli
TUITION:
$60 for 2 session class, all supplies included
WHEN: Thursdays from 7 – 9 P, or by appointment.
Learn the art of hand building to create a beautiful ceramic or sculpture piece, from a lump of clay. All materials, glazes and kiln firing are included. Teaching artist Debbie Limoli will work with you to arrange times and dates that fit your schedule.  Each class is 2 hours.  Each piece will require two sessions.
