Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center will offer theatre classes at Metuchen’s Forum Theater. The classes for adult, teens and children grade 3 and up will include acting and public speaking.
WHEN: beginning January 14 and 15; Sessions run six weeks
WHERE: Forum Theatre, Metuchen
TUITION: The first class is free so that students can try it out before committing.
Acting for Kids: theatre games, improv, and play scenes for kids in grades 3-6. Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 pm.
Teen and Preteen Acting: improv, scene work, and audition techniques. Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Adult Acting & Improv: an acting class for experienced actors to hone their skills and non-actors to try it out. The class will include improv, scene study, monologue work, and audition techniques. Fridays from 7:30-8:30 pm.
Public Speaking for School and Business: a class that will give teens and adults the chance to increase their confidence and skill at public speaking. Saturdays 12:30-1:30 pm.
All courses offer the first class free and session prices are affordable to keep in line with Dragonfly’s mission to make theatrical experiences available to all populations. Dragonfly also welcomes all students, including those with disabilities, to the programs. The classes will be overseen by Dragonfly Artistic Director Catherine LaMoreaux, a NJ-certified educator.
