His 1967 New York recital debut earned him the Young Concert Artists' Award. A year later came his debut with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic. Acclaimed for the heartfelt intensity and technical mastery of his playing, Kalichstein enthralls audiences throughout the world, winning equal praise as orchestral soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. A founder of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Piano Trio, Kalichstein has been a Juilliard professor since 1983.
