MONTCLAIR PUBLIC LIBRARY FALL PROGRAMS

Family Storytime @ Bellevue Avenue Library
This program is designed for newborns through five year-olds accompanied by a favorite adult. Share books, stories, finger-plays, rhymes, and music with your children. Enjoy a story session that encourages a love of reading and fosters the development of early literacy skills. Children of all abilities welcome.
No registration required

Cuentitos: Storytime en Espanol
Enjoy a story session of children's books and live acoustic guitar music in Spanish and English. Spanish speakers and non-Spanish speakers are welcome! Recommended ages 3 & up

Drop-In Wii & Board Games
Are ‘wii board’ yet?  Come enjoy many games that are a lot of fun and offer a little bit of friendly competition. We will provide various Wii games (including but not limited to), Wii Sports Resort, Just Dance, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. In addition, we will also offer board games such as, Don’t Wake Daddy, Creationary, LIFE, Clue, Connect 4, Operation, Twister, Mancala, Chess and Backgammon to those who prefer to play traditional board games.

  • From 3-4pm we will be playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
  • From 4-5pm we will be playing Just Dance!

Let's Read Together!
Let's Read Together is a family literacy program designed to help kids get ready to read! Each session will highlight fun activities that adults and children can share to help develop early literacy skills. Children of all abilities are welcome.

Banned Books Week Movie Marathon
Banned Books Week is an annual celebration of your right to read. During this week, avid readers around the country are working together to shed light on the harms of censorship. Join your community in their effort to illustrate the importance of free and open access to information by reading a banned book. Celebrate your FREEDOM to READ! You were told not to read the book...now watch the movie!

Teen Advisory Board Meeting
Are you a teen from Montclair and/or go to school here? Are you interested in making a difference in your community? Are you in need of community service hours? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of the Montclair Public Library. Join us on Wednesday, September 16th, 6:30-7:30 pm, on the 3rd floor, as we take a look at all the fun activities we have in store for this year! The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of the Montclair Public Library meets the first Wednesday of each month, September-May. TAB members receive community service hours for participating. Passport to Flavor: Destination MEXICO!
Did you know that Mexico was home to native peoples such as Aztecs and Mayans? They and their descendants created dishes using ingredients such as corn, chilies, and cocoa beans. Today, Mexican food is a mixture of Spanish, French, Italian, and Native American recipes. This month we are visiting the country of Mexico and trying out some of their fine cuisines. Join us as we learn how to make red salsa, limonada (limeade), and arroz con leche (rice pudding). Buen provecho!
