MUSICIANS OF ALL AGES INVITED TO AUDITION FOR PERFORMING ENSEMBLES

AUDITIONS:

WHEN: chamber music ensembles coached by Alexander Rees, on Wednesday, September 9, 4:30-6:30 pm. Sunday, September 20, 4:30-6:30 pm, Thurnauer will hold auditions for the String Camerata, led by Matthew Lucero, and Thurnauer Symphony Youth Orchestra, led by Diego Garcia.

Auditions for TeenTown Jazz Big Band and small combos for teens ages 12 and over and adults, led by Debbie Keefe, will be held 2-4 pm.

And any students who are ages 6 and older who love to sing and would like to audition for the award-winning Young People’s Chorus @ Thurnauer, led by Emma Brondolo, can audition from 5-7 pm.

The JCC Thurnauer School of Music, New Jersey’s leading community music school, invites musicians from tristate area to its Fall Ensemble Auditions on Wednesday, September 9 and Sunday, September 20.

“We are very excited to begin our 32nd season at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music,” said founding director Dorothy Kaplan Roffman. “We invite musicians of all ages and abilities to share their talents with us and see how they can grow and thrive at the music school under the guidance of our outstanding faculty.”

Thurnauer ensembles hold many concerts throughout the year and have unique opportunities to perform with renowned guest artists. The Thurnauer Symphony Orchestra was led by New York Philharmonic music director Alan Gilbert and 10 musicians from the orchestra at the school’s 2011 Gift of Music concert. The TeenTown Jazz Band performed alongside legendary jazz guitarist Larry Coryell at the 2013 Gift of Music Gala. An affiliate of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City™, the YPC@T performed under the direction of the latter’s artistic director and founder, Francisco J. Núñez, at the Music School’s 2012 Gift of Music Gala Benefit Concert.
