With a cast that mixes talented newcomers and Broadway veterans, the show tells the famous story of singer Sally Bowles and the other cabaret performers in pre-war Berlin.

The Westminster arts Center  is located in an area great for dining before the show. There is a nearby lot on Austin Place and on street parking on Fremont Street.

The show stars Danielle Valencia as Sally Bowles and Michael Zimmerman as the Emcee.

Presented by NJYT, Cabaret is directed and starred in by Broadway veteran Cynthia Meryl from the original cast of Nine. NJYT has always focused on professional arts education for young actors and casting experienced actors in Cabaret is an extension of that mission. “We learned, when we did Westside Story, that when we brought in some professional orchestra members to play in the pit, they ended up mentoring the kids. That’s what we’re doing with Cabaret. They’re learning from us, about rehearsal protocol, about being off book and knowing your stuff, but most importantly, they’re seeing how Peter and I are immediately in the moment. I’m watching everybody rise in their level of professionalism,” Cynthia Meyrl.

Meryl will play Fräulein Schneider and another experienced actor, Peter Skolnik, will play her fiancé, Herr Schultz. “It’s enormously satisfying to see how talented these kids are and to see how interested they are in learning their craft and becoming truly professional,” Peter Skolnik.

This program is made possible in part by the generous support of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation, the Lillian Pitkin Schenck Fund, the Edelman Foundation and the Westfield Foundation.
