This Memorial Day weekend, join us in Morristown as we celebrate the little girl whose smile, charm, and curly hair carried the nation through the Great Depression. The Morris Museum is pleased to announce that it will host Love, Shirley Temple, an exhibition featuring Hollywood costumes and rare memorabilia from the personal collection of the world’s most famous child actress. Sponsored by Theriault’s, the auction leader for important childhood objects, the Morris Museum is the exclusive metropolitan venue for this traveling exhibition.
Love, Shirley Temple will feature dozens of cherished objects from Shirley Temple’s famed childhood years. The actress’s most recognizable movie costumes, including the iconic polka dot dress from “Stand Up and Cheer!” and the complete Scottish-kilt outfit from “Wee Willie Winkie” will be on view. Also on display will be her personal dolls and playthings, a child-sized racing car given to Shirley Temple by her close friend and co-star Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, and extraordinary autograph books and letters. Paintings and illustrations created for the actress by famed artists, animators, and cartoonists of the period will be included.
“This exhibition offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the Hollywood film career and childhood of a beloved American icon,” said Executive Director Linda Moore.

About the Morris Museum
Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, community-based arts and cultural institution which serves the public through high caliber exhibitions in the arts, sciences and humanities. The Museum is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ, and is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00pm. In addition, the Museum is open evenings from 5:00 to 8:00pm on the second and third Thursday of the month. Admission to the Museum is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens. Admission is always free for Museum members.
