Elizabeth Hendy Violin PicCome join the acclaimed Livingston Symphony Orchestra  for “Russian to the Finnish,” the fourth performance in their 2014-2015 concert series, directed by charismatic guest conductor Anthony LaGruth.

Part of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra annual concert series, this performance, “Russian to the Finnish”, will feature works by composers from Russia, Finland and Poland, Slavic states all. Mikhail Glinka’s exuberant Ruslan and Ludmyla Overture has succeeded despite the opera’s limited success. A bold and unconventional piece, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2 shows the composer’s grace and style in creating something whole from bits and pieces. Featured Young Artist Competition Winner Elizabeth Hendy (above left) will also display both amazing virtuosity  and lyricism as she performs the Wienawski violin Concert No. 2 with the Orchestra.

The venue for this concert, Livingston High School, 30 Robert Harp, Livingston, is handicapped accessible and has adjacent free parking.
