With a massive fan base, more than 20 million views on YouTube, numerous TV appearances and proven success with three albums, Yeshiva University’s student vocal group, the Maccabeats, has entertained and inspired hundreds of audiences worldwide. Using nothing more than the unadulterated human voice, a clean-cut presentation and a little Jewish humor, this unique group of singers is able to connect with fans of all backgrounds and ages.

The Maccabeats will bring their energy, style and spirit to an intimate JCC setting, where they will give an all-out performance to music lovers of all ages. The concert has been underwritten so that all proceeds can benefit programs for senior adults at the JCC.

“The Maccabeats are a major icon in the music world today and are writing songs that encourage young people to embrace Jewish ideas and values,” says Senior Adult Director Judi Nahary. “We expect a huge turnout, and we are so grateful for the support we received, knowing that ticket sales will allow us to provide invaluable programs for senior adults in our community who are truly in need.”

The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades provides excellent year-round programming for senior adults, including a social adult day care program for people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, extensive programming for active retirees, door-to-door transportation in wheelchair accessible vehicles; hearty breakfasts and hot kosher lunches; programs for the arts; lectures and concerts; discussions on current affairs; gardening, music and exercise; sing-alongs and dancing; birthday and holiday celebrations; intergenerational programs with nursery school children and other programs that allow seniors to successfully “age in place” and remain engaged and connected to their community.
