Characters
Thomas: 30's or 40's; A playwright who is casting his own play based on a 1870 Austrian novel about masochism. He is earnest and dedicated but easily manipulated by:
Vanda: 30's; A powerful actress who must be loud, crass and vulgar, but instantly change to a sexy, elegant, classical actress. The change from tough talkin' modern woman to Victorian dominatrix, back and forth, must be comic and chilling.
