Robert Ferguson passed away in 2009 and his charming wife, Lenore, has graciously offered to share this amazing exhibit with the Library. Robert Ferguson grew up in New Jersey and he served a tour of duty in Vietnam as an Army Airborne Ranger. Returning home from Vietnam, Ferguson decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life creating beauty, so he pursued art studies at Du’Cret’s School of the arts in North Plainfield. He earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts at Essex County College and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Kean University.

During this time the Ferguson’s spent summers traveling to Europe, Brazil and the Caribbean, where they visited numerous galleries. Ferguson enjoyed studying the works of other artists while he developed his own unique style.  He was a man of many talents comfortable working in a variety of medias. This exhibit will include cityscapes, geometric abstract art, African-themed art, landscapes, portraits, still-life and framed three-dimensional beaded art work.

As a member of the Irvington Art Association Ferguson received many awards.  He participated in Art shows in Atlantic City and New York City.
