LEARN IMPROV FOR BUSINESS WITH DREAMCATCHER REP ARTISTIC DIRECTOR IN SUMMIT

So often in our professional lives we are called upon to respond spontaneously under unfamiliar circumstances. Presenting and promoting ourselves well when we don't know exactly what the other person's needs and interests are can be challenging.

How can we turn these tricky situations into opportunities for us to shine and to express our passion?

Instructor Laura Ekstrand, Artistic Director of Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, will lead the group in exercises and games designed to improve our ability to listen, read body language, and truly collaborate. The workshop promises to be an enjoyable, unique way to unlock our individuality and to connect with more immediacy and openness.

About the instructor: Laura Ekstrand is the founder of Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, a 20-year-old professional ensemble in residence at the Oakes Center in Summit. As an actor, she has appeared onstage in New Jersey at Dreamcatcher, Bickford Theatre, Passage Theatre, Luna Stage, and is a member of the improv comedy group Multiple Personality Disorder. In NY she has worked at Naked Angels, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and New Georges, among others. Laura has been featured in such films as Split Ends, High Art and I Shot Andy Warhol, and on TV on Hack, Sex And The City, Law & Order, and The Guiding Light. She is also a director and playwright as well as a private monologue coach; Laura holds a B.A. from Yale University and an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She is a member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA and the Dramatists Guild.
