The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc. launches its 2014-2015 season performing three special concerts from November, 2014 to April, 2015 in Leonia, New Jersey.

Leading New York professional musicians, currently performing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as living in Leonia and neighboring communities will perform the concert. Leonia Chamber Musicians performing in the concert are Edward Brewer, harpsichord; Patricia Dougherty, Bass; Daryl Goldberg, cello; Marsha Heller, oboe; and Theresa Norris, flute. They will be joined by guest artists Melanie Bradford, flute, and Francisca Mendoza, violin.

The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society will present an unusual arrangement of Haydn String Quartet Opus 50, #5, also known as "A Dream" for its adagio movement, using the same register as the original for two violins, viola and cello. They will present their interpretation of this piece with a slight twist—violin, flute, English horn and cello will be played, creating a rich and different sonority.

Leonia native and prominent free-lancer Melanie Bradford will join the Leonia Chamber Musicians to perform music with two flute solos, the Bach Trio Sonata in G Major and the Telemann Concerto in D. Accomplished violinist Francisca Mendoza will join the Leonia Chamber Musicians Society again. Ms. Mendoza is the winner of several competitions and awards and is currently concertmaster for the Broadway show The Lion King. She will perform Haydn's classical work, as well as the virtuoso Passacaglia on a Theme of Handel arranged by Johan Halvorsen for Violin and Cello.

The remaining two concerts of the season will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015, 4 PM, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 150 Park Avenue, in Leonia, and Sunday, April 19, 2015, 2:30 PM. Back by popular demand, the final concert will feature a family friendly concert, including a presentation of Barbar the Elephant at American Legion Hall, 399 Broad Avenue, in Leonia.
