Montclair Operetta Club, now in its 90th season, presents a fully staged production of Godspell at Westminster Arts Center on the campus of Bloomfield College. Founded in 1925, M.O.C. continues its long-standing musical theatre tradition with this exciting and innovative production. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell is modern-day retelling of the Gospel according to St. Matthew. The score includes the well-known songs “Day By Day,” “Learn Your Lesson Well” and “By My Side.”

The cast features Daniel Yearwood as Jesus, Joseph Trible as John the Baptist, William Carey as Judas, and an ensemble of sixteen. The production is directed by noted Broadway casting director Bob Cline, a veteran of many M.O.C. productions, with musical direction by Gonzalo Valencia. Mr. Valencia has assembled an orchestra of talented musicians to accompany this top-notch cast. Felicity Selby is the stage manager for this production.
