COME HEAR MUSIC UNDER THE RED FLAG IN FREEHOLD NOVEMBER 2

Ukrainian-born Illya Filshtinskiy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Julliard, a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music and a Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes, the New School for Music. He began to study piano at the age of six, in Kharhov, Ukraine. Mr. Filshtinskiy came to the United States in 2000 and made his orchestral debut in 2002, at the age of 15, playing Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the Springfield (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra, having won that orchestra’s Young Soloist competition. That same year he was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as the winner of the World Piano Competition. He is now a member of aTonal Hits, a group dedicated to bringing contemporary and lesser known works to audiences. The group has been selected as featured artists at the Myspace website.
