The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, this Broadway and big screen classic tells the story of The Von Trapp family in dazzling new life on the stage.  Lindsay Wood will star as Maria, along with David Fusco as The Captain, Todd Aikens as Max Detweiler, and Kathy Marhold as Mother Abbess. The heart of the show, however, lies with the Von Trapp children, played by Eliana Swartz, Gabrielle Cinque, Sarah Coleman, Jake Rallo, Carmen Gemallaro, Michael Friedman, and Leia LaRue.

The Sound of Music first opened on Broadway in 1959 and was the final musical written by the dynamic duo Rodgers and Hammerstein. The production ran for four years and closed on June 15, 1963, after 1443 performances. Revived over the years with stars such as Florence Henderson and Julie Andrews as the memorable governess Maria, it was The Sound of Music’s jump to the big screen that held its claim to fame. The film adaptation won five Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Score, and two Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture and Best Actress for Julie Andrews.

When a postulant in 1930’s Austria proves herself too high-spirited for the religious life, she is sent to serve as a governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. She is met with some hostility at first, but her kindness, understanding, and love for music earns the governess a place in the family’s home and hearts. Exuberant Maria teaches the Von Trapp family lessons of life, love, and music through some of the most memorable songs such as “Do-Re-Mi”, “My Favorite Things”, and more!

Full of classic tunes from the stage and film, extraordinary performances, and breathtaking scenery, THE SOUND OF MUSIC is a timeless and heartwarming musical for everyone to fall in love with all over again!
