AUDITION NOTICE: BERGEN COUNTY PLAYERS SEEK ACTORS FOR “FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY, THE MUSICAL”

OPEN AUDITIONS

FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY, THE MUSICAL
based on the incredibly popular New York Times bestselling book by celebrated actress Julianne Moore.

WHEN: Monday, September 8 and Monday, September 15, both at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ

PERFORMANCE DATES: November 29 - December 21

ROLES:

  • STRAWBERRY—Should be between the ages of 17 and 25, and plays a 12 year old in the show. Having red hair is not a requirement to audition. Needs to be a very strong performer because she carries the show and has to show a wide range of emotional feelings. She should be a BELTER with a wide range.
  • DANNY- Also plays- BABY BROTHER/FRANKIE FRECKLE/TAP DANCER
  • HARRY—also plays: DON FONTAINE/CLOWN
  • JAKE also plays: FREDO FECKLE/SHERLOCK HOLMES
  • BALLET GIRL also plays: FRANCINE FRECKLE
  • JANE also plays: TEACHER/MOTHER/LADY GAGA
  • EMILY also plays: GUITAR PLAYER

All the roles, other than STRAWBERY, are characters who need to be able to play children between 10 to 12 years of age as well as adults.

All of the characters need to be able to sing well and dance well. All of the characters are in most of the scenes.

Bring music for the auditions of up-beat songs. Sing between 16 and 32 bars only. The best description of the characters is to read the script since they are so varied and all need to be very versatile.

Scripts are available at the theater in the evening.
