ARTISTIC CHAIRS HONOR 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF JEWISH SERVICE FOR THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED’S WAE CENTER

Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled

In honor of the 10th anniversary of JSDD’s Wae (Wellness, Arts, Enrichment) Center, a large scale collaborative art project is currently underway. Ten life-sized chairs have been commissioned from professional artists, each of whom is working with the Center’s member artists to create a chair as an art/sculpture object.

The chairs represent our commitment/belief that every person is entitled to a “seat at the table”—in our community and our family lives. The goal of the project is to shift perceptions about people with developmental disabilities and broaden and grow the public’s awareness of policies about inclusion.
