LUNCHTIME POEMS IN MILITARY PARK: A GREAT WAY TO SPEND YOUR LUNCH HOUR!

Lunchtime Poems in Military Park

Support our veterans and enjoy poetry—for free. Can you think of a better way to spend your lunch hour?

WHEN: noon every Thursday through August 28
WHERE: Military Park, Newark

This Thursday, July 24, join us in welcoming a very special set of readers to Lunchtime Poems in Newark's Military Park: veteran poets from Warrior Writers and Combat Paper NJ. Featured poets will be: Jan Barry, Kevin Basl, Sarah Mess, Walt Nygard, Eli Wright & James Yee.

Warrior Writers and Combat Paper NJ are veteran-focused arts organizations that foster artistic exploration and expression through casual, welcoming workshops and retreats.

You can also support veteran poets at the Dodge Poetry Festival! On October 25, 2014, readers from Warrior Writers, Combat Paper NJ, and more will participate in Another Kind of Courage at NJPAC’s Prudential Hall. Readers will include Pulitzer Prize winner Yusef Komunyakaa, Beatrice Hawley Award Winner and Iraqi War veteran Brian Turner and former Connecticut Poet Laureate Marilyn Nelson.
