Young actors turn something "Grimm" into a night of hilarity!
New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts Encore Youth Theatre Project presents THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON! THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON! is a delightfully fun play written by Don Zolidis.
The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and multiple actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil's Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun. It's "Monty Python meets classic fairy tales!...Up-roariosly funny!"
THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON! features 7 kids from local towns: Leilany Figueroa & Kaitlyn Vega from Newark, Chelsea Heddy from East Rutherford, Matthew Malave from East Orange, Maya Mizrahi from Montclair, Max Sherer from Warren and Elizabeth Short from Fords. The show is directed by Gary Lynch of West Orange.
Founded in 2004, the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts (www.njactors.org) in Bloomfield, NJ has provided comprehensive professional acting training for adults, teens and children. More than 1,200 students, some of whom have gone on to pursue professional acting careers, have taken classes at the school since it opened its doors ten years ago.
