Carlos Barbosa-Lima is simply one of the greatest guitarists performing today. Of particular note are his brilliant arrangements, his fluid intertwining of classical and popular styles, and his mastery of timbral orchestration on the instrument. Barbosa-Lima is well know for his collaborations with Bossa-Nova master Antonio Carlos Jobim, and for his carrying on the traditions of his teachers-guitar legends Isaias Savio and Andres Segovia. Maestro Barbosa-Lima released his first recording in 1958, and began touring the world in 1960. He was recently nominated for a Latin Grammy.
Maestro Barbosa-Lima will play many solo works, many duets with his frequent musical partner Larry Del Casale, and a quartet with Del Casale and local guitarists John Bogan and Keith Calmes.
