Real to Reel film series, The Flat

The Flat:  After the death of his 98-year-old Jewish grandmother, filmmaker Arnon Goldfinger commences the arduous process of cleaning out the Tel Aviv flat that she lived in with her husband for 70 years after fleeing Nazi Germany. While going through her files, Goldfinger makes a shocking discovery that sends him on a revealing journey into his complex family history.  Free admission, light refreshments will be served. 

Real to Reel film series, Rescue in The Philippines
WHEN:

Rescue in the Philippines: Refuge from the Holocaust recounts a fascinating, yet seldom-told, chapter in World War II history. The documentary chronicles a real-life Casablanca, in which a high-profile group of poker buddies—including Colonel Dwight Eisenhower—devised an intricate international plan of rescue and re-settlement, saving 1,300 Jews from Nazi concentration camps.   

A discussion will follow with Jane Frieder Wilf, granddaughter of Herbert Frieder, and the daughter of Philip Richard Frieder, both of whom appear in the film. Free admission, light refreshments will be served.

Presenting “A Moral Mandate: Memories of the Unimaginable” commemorating Kristallnacht, SS St. Louis, Kindertransport and the 20th Anniversary of the NJ Mandate to Teach the Holocaust. Yom Hashoah Commemoration followed by Lunch & Learn with a Holocaust Survivor

NJ Commission on Holocaust Education’s 20th Anniversary Recognition of the Holocaust/Genocide Mandate
