WHEN: Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 26, from 7:00 PM-10:00 PM. No appointment is needed, but actors are asked to sign in within the first hour. Callbacks (if needed) will take place on Saturday, March 29, from 1:00PM-6:00 PM.
WHERE: Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage-Blue Room located at 360 Hamilton Street Rahway.
Performance Dates: NINE is slated to run March 2015 with the following production dates: March 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8:00 PM and March 8 and 15 at 2:00 PM.

- be prepared to sing 16 bars of a legit musical theater piece. An accompanist will be provided.

SYNOPSIS: Guido Contini, famous Italian film director faces double crises: he has to shoot a film for which he can't write the script, and his wife of twenty years, Luisa, may be about to leave him if he can't pay more attention to the marriage. In an attempt to find some peace and save the marriage, they go to a spa near Venice.
As Guido struggles to find a story for his film, he becomes increasingly preoccupied—his interior world sometimes becoming indistinguishable from the objective world. His mistress Carla arrives in Venice, calling him from her lonely hotel room, his producer Liliane La Fleur insists he make a musical, film star Claudia Nardi has flown from Paris because he needs her. In Guido’s mind many women from his past appear to him, including his Mother, Sarraghina (a beach whore) and many others, culminating in Guido’s facing the ultimate decision of life and death.
Character Breakdown
The roles of Guido and Louisa have been cast from company auditions. The following roles are available in this production:
- Carla Albanese: Guido’s mistress who continuously shows up at inopportune moments in Guido’s life. Sexy and uninhibited. 25-30 Role requires brief, but tastefully suggested, nudity.
- Claudia Nardi: Guido’s leading lady, an actress who he wants to cast next film. Beautiful and glamorous, Early to Mid 30’s
- Guido's Mother: She is dead, but appears to Guido and offers him guidance as well as in flashbacks. 30-50
- Liliane La Fleur: Guido’s producer and former star of the famous Folies Bergeres. 40-50 Must be able to handle a kick line.
- Our Lady of the Spa: A phantom of Guido’s mind. Beautiful and ethereal
- Sarraghina: A prostitute Guido visits as a child to learn about love and women. 30-45
- Women: A company of women from Guido’s life, including Aunts, Reporters, Actresses and Fans. 4 dancing women are specifically needed.
