PAPER MILL PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES CHILDREN’S AUDITIONS FOR SPRING PRODUCTION OF SOUTH PACIFIC

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt, Managing Director) announces non-union children’s auditions for the acclaimed theater’s production of South Pacific.

PERFORMANCE DATES:South Pacific will run at the Millburn theater from April 9 through May 4, 2014. 
REHEARSALS begin Monday, March 17, in New York City. 

Paper Mill Playhouse seeks children to fill two roles in the musical South Pacific

  • Jerome: Boy, age 7 to 9 years old. Emile's son of mixed race: Maori mother/Caucasian father.
  • Ngana: Girl, age 9 to 11 years old. Emile's daughter of mixed race: Maori mother/Caucasian father.

Performers must sing, act and have a comfortable stage presence. They are both smart children who adore their father. Children must be able to learn French phrases. 

*Audition signup will take place in the theater’s lobby on a first-come, first-served basis on Saturday, February 15, beginning at 10:00 AM.  Children and their guardian should join the line in front of the theater (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ) and enter through the front doors of the theater only.  Every child should bring a picture and resume stapled together.

Any child who auditions will be asked to sing Dites-Moi from the show – music will be provided. Callbacks will be held on the same day. 

“Students who have appeared on the Paper Mill Playhouse stage have gone on to have major careers on stage, in movies and on television,” commented Mark S. Hoebee, Paper Mill Playhouse’s Producing Artistic Director.  “This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to be a part of a professional production and perform on the legendary Paper Mill stage.”
