Criminal Schools is a Puffin Foundation grant winning full-length play that looks deeply at the problems of several public schools in New Jersey.

The value of the play is based on the assumption that what ails these schools is systemic in America.  The play takes the form of voices from teachers and students telling their experiences.  As the stories unfold, a clear picture develops that the schools do not feed the minds, hearts and souls of their students, and besides being morally criminal, they may in fact be legally so.

Quatrone, a poet and a playwright who resides in Spring Lake, says, "It is important to see this play because much of what passes for English and social studies education,( the two subjects which most directly affect the character and imaginations of our children, is inadequate and ill-informed. If we still care about the welfare of our kids, see this play."
