PLAY ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL ANGST TO BENEFIT FOOD PANTRY

ABSELERYOU HAVE TO WEAR GREEN ON TUESDAYS…AND OTHER BITS OF TEENAGE WISDOM
By Deanna Ableser

WHEN: March 15-17 at 7 PM
WHERE: Cullen Center in Veteran’s Park, 1776 Union Ave, Holmdel
TICKETS: $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Refreshments will be available at intermission.

Ableser worked with middle schoolers to create this heartfelt play, which touches on subjects—from bullying to puppy love—facing children, especially modern middle-schoolers. Producer Lauren Matthews Raad and Directors Trevor Cahill, Kevin McGee and Joe Thompson have been working with local children, aged 4-14, to bring this story of the ups and downs of modern middle school.

Garden State Players is also hosting a food drive to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s food pantry in St. Benedict’s Church in Holmdel.

Unfortunately, the pantry shelves are empty as a result of Hurricane Sandy; therefore, rebuilding the pantry is of paramount importance to us.  We strongly urge our community to come together in support of this important cause in an effort to make a difference in the lives of so many people adversely affected by Sandy's disastrous aftermath. Donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted at all performances.

The cast members are Gabriella Raad (Hazlet), Kaitlyn DeMatteo (Hazlet), Mary McGee (Keansburg), Jessica Lomonaco (Hazlet), Connor Newell (Hazlet), Dakota Newell (Hazlet), Deanna Collazo (Middletown), Theo Modla (Holmdel), Kevin Parsells (Matawan), Bella Parsells (Matawan) and Emma Clifton (Keyport).
