AUDITION NOTICE:
SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

WHEN: Sunday, January 27, at 1 PM and Tuesday, January 29, at 7 PM; Callbacks at 1 PM on Saturday, February 2, 2013
WHERE: East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick
Performance dates are April 19 – May 5, 2012. All shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM
Auditions will be held on a first come, first served basis and appointments will not be considered. Questions about the production can be e-mailed to sundayinthepark@playhouse22.org.
Singers should be prepared to sing 16 bars from musical theater in the style of the show (no songs from the show — however, other Sondheim songs are permitted). No Disney show, country, pop or rock shows songs, if possible. No a capella. An accompanist will be provided. Must bring your sheet music.
Cast Requirements:

GEORGE- An artist, intense, passionate about his work. In Act II he plays a descendent who is a frustrated artist (Tenor)

DOT/MARIE- George’s headstrong mistress, fun, emotional/ George’s elderly grandmother (Soprano)

JULES/BOB GREENBERG- a rival artist, well known/the museum director (high Baritone)

YVONNE/NAOMI EISEN- Jules’ pampered wife/a sardonic composer (Alto)

FRANZ/DENNIS- Jules coachman, quick to temper/ a frazzled technician (high Baritone)

FRIEDA/BETTY- Franz’s wife, Cook for Jules and Yvonne/ an artist (Alto)

A BOATMAN/CHARLES REDMOND- a surly blue-collar laborer/ a visiting Texas curator (Bass/Baritone)

A SOLDIER/ALEX- a French military man/ a jealous artist (Baritone)

LOUIS/BILLY WEBSTER- A baker, simple, well intended, nice guy/ friend of Harriet (Tenor)

CELESTE #1/A WAITRESS- a young shop girl/ a caterer at the art opening (Soprano)
