NEW DiIORIO PLAY TO RECEIVE STAGED READING AT HUDSON THEATRE WORKS

About the Play

CRIB deals with questions of race, scholarship, and mental illness.  Tracy is an African American Professor in the midst of a tenure fight.  Rajon is a star basketball player, negotiating the challenges of freshman year and his court prowess. When Rajon is accused of plagiarism and faced with expulsion, Tracy finds herself in the middle of a unwanted battle between academics and athletics.

Gino JpegGino DiIorio is a New York City based playwright.  His new play The Jag was the winner of the 2010 Firehouse Theatre's Great American New Play Award. The Jag was also a finalist in the 2011 Laurents Hatcher Award Competition.

His new play Release Point was a finalist for the 2011 Thomas Barbour Memorial Playwright's Award.  The play was also a finalist in the Greenhouse New Play Festival through the HotCity Theatre, St. Louis, Missouri.  The play was given its world premiere at the New Jersey Rep in August of 2012.

Gino is a Professor of Theatre at Clark University in Worcester, MA.  He has also taught at The New School for Social Research, NYU, the Weist Barron School, and Rockland Community College. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Hudson Theatre Works primary focus is in bringing a living theatre community to the area of Hudson and North Jersey through performance, outreach and theatre arts instruction.
