You are cordially invited to a special performance by the Bergen Chamber Ensemble as part of WP Presents! Musical Salon Series. This new series presents small ensembles and classical repertoire in a beautiful “salon” setting.
The concert takes place in the intimate Hobart Manor, a National Historic Site on the main campus of William Paterson University. The Tudor-style mansion, which dates to 1877, was originally the family home of Garret Hobart, twenty-fourth vice president of the United States.
The Bergen Chamber Ensemble is comprised of professional musicians including Carol Shansky on flute, Lauren Hosford on horn, Seth Himmelhoch on guitar and Joseph d’Auguste on clarinet.
The concert includes solos, duets, trios and quartets of works ranging from early nineteenth century classical music to twenty-first century works with a modern approach. The repertoire will include works by Kreutzer, Alliers, Llamazares, and others. This is a real “salon” program that harkens back to the days when music lovers and patrons offered concerts in the home or palace.
And yes, there will be refreshments!
