WHEN: THIS THURSDAY, September 20th (7-10 PM) and THIS SUNDAY, September 23rd (3-5 PM)
WHERE: THURSDAY - The Grace Lutheran Church, located at 925 Fifth Avenue in River Edge, NJ. Please go around to the back of the building to access the audition room; look for signs.
SUNDAY - The Knights of Columbus, located at 770 Kinderkamack Road in River Edge, NJ. If you receive a callback on Sunday, you will be asked to stay for the same-day callbacks from 5-7 PM.
From the theater company that most recently produced LEGALLY BLONDE, THE MUSICAL and NEXT TO NORMAL, New Vision Players holds auditions for their NEW Fall 2012 production: SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD!
At age twenty-five, songwriter Jason Robert Brown pulled together sixteen of the songs he had written for various projects (shows, cabaret, concerts), and director Daisy Prince found a common theme to make a show of the pieces. The theme is the moment of decision, the point at which you transition from the old to the new. The change may be geographical, emotional, professional or marital, but things are different than they were before. The result is neither musical play nor revue, it is closer to a theatrical song cycle, a very theatrical song cycle.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please prepare TWO (2) songs, one ballad and one upbeat: 16-32 bars each. An accompanist will be present at the auditions, but you are welcome to perform your songs a cappella instead.
AGE RESTRICTION
Must be at least 17-years-old to audition!
CALLBACKS will be on Sunday, September 23, from 5 - 7 PM at Knights of Columbus (same place as auditions).
FIRST REHEARSAL will be Monday, September 24. Rehearsal schedule is every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
PERFORMANCE DATES are November 15, 16, 17, 18 at Fair Lawn Community Center
