Beginning in 1974 as a break-off of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship is arguably one of the most well-known bands to come out of that decade. Known for their hits We Built This City, Sara, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, Miracles, Jane, Somebody To Love, White Rabbit, Volunteers and Count On Me, their first album Blows Against the Empire was the first ever rock music recording nominated for literary science fiction’s prestigious Hugo Award.

The band consists of Paul Kanter, David Freiberg, Mark “Slick” Aguilar, Donny Baldwin, Chris Smith and Cathy Richardson.

Founded in 1924 as Sussex County’s premier entertainment venue, The Newton Theatre presents a wide range of programs that entertain, enrich and educate the diverse population of the region and enhance the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey.
