FINAL AUDITION NOTICE EEDED: ALL Students Ages 14-21(or Madison Dads ~ see roles available below)   The Madison Department of Recreation, in partnership with Playwrights Theatre, announces their production of the musical ONCE UPON A MATTRESS By Mary Rodgers and Marshall Barer Performances are July 26, 27 & 28. If you are available for ALL full rehearsals* (July 16-25, 2012) and performances please come to the first major rehearsal WHEN: TUESDAY, JUNE 26, at 6:00 PM WHERE: Madison Civic Center, 28 Walnut St. (2nd floor above the Health Dept.) *Full schedule will be on the website CALLING ALL MADISON DADS! Auditions for the still available roles of KING SEXTIMUS and THE WIZARD (Can you or your dad do magic tricks?) WHEN: Monday, June 25, at 9:00 PM WHERE: the Civic Center   Once Upon A Mattress is a fun twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s Classic Fairytale The Princess and the Pea. It has an added subplot that has a more adult theme, and the show features some wonderful up-tempo full cast musical numbers, as well as very humorous songs and situations. The original Broadway cast was led by Carol Burnett and the revival by Sarah Jessica Parker. Many may have seen the made for TV version with an all-star cast (with Ms. Burnett as the Queen this time) as well. Also needed: musicians (must audition), stage crew, sound & light crew members.
