Exciting world-music fusion band "Taan" is on their first USA tour, with their first show in Highland Park, NJ.

Led by renown musician/composer, Rushi Vakil, Taan's music is a harmonious meeting of seemingly opposites—a meeting of east and west, ancient and modern, melody and harmony. Each track is different from the rest. In one, you find Irish fiddling with Goan folk, while another compares jazz with the classical Indian raga of Bhairavi. There are club beats overlaid with tabla vocals and a Ugandan folk song recreated with Indian improvisational techniques.

Appealing to today’s generation and the connoisseurs of music, Taan has audiences snapping their fingers, dancing to the beat and swaying to its sound.

"Taan" features Rushi Vakil on the keyboard, Aniket Khandekar on vocals, Kaumil Shah on the djembe and dumbek and Sahil Patel on tabla and percussion. Guest artists include Vincent Smith on cajon and Misha Fatkiev on guitar.  Do not miss this musical treat next weekend!

Opening Performance by Talavya (tabla-ensemble) with Rushi Vakil, Sahil Patel, Kaumil Shah & Mike Lukshis.
