An amazing opportunity to give yourself the gift of learning this year! The Melton course, a Project of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, connects you to great Jewish learning. Classes meet once a week for 30 weeks, beginning in the fall. Each session consists of two one-hour classes, with a short break. Although there are no prerequisites, exams or grades, participants are asked to make a serious commitment to regular study. Students register for one year at a time, and those who complete the full two-year program earn a Certificate of Jewish Learning from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
MELTON Year One Courses:
- RHYTHMS: What ideas, beliefs and sources shape Jewish life and practice, including the daily, weekly, monthly annual life-cycle observances and customs?
- PURPOSES: Why do Jews believe what they do, and what theological concepts unfold in the Bible, the Talmud and the other sacred texts—both ancient and contemporary?
*Registration: See The Melton Course Brochure for details and registration information. If the registration fee is a financial hardship, please contact Rabbi Kulwin, 973.994.2290 or ckulwin@tbanj.org.
