“LOVE LETTERS” FOR THE E-MAIL SET = A VERY FUNNY COMEDY

I usually don’t promote NYC theater; they have enough money for advertising. But this show stars two New Jersey natives/performers, Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. Billy and Jane's plays are among the most popular in the Samuel French catalog and their work is constantly being performed in NJ and beyond. So if you’re looking for some fun theater on a Friday night, you might trek into the city for this one:

YOU’VE GOT HATE MAIL

WHEN: Every Friday night at 7 PM
WHERE: The Triad, 158 W. 72 Street, NYC
TICKETS: $30 - $35 and are available at www.smarttix.com or 212-868-4444. The Triad has a two-drink minimum and is a cash-only venue.

Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore (Silent Laughter, Love, Sex, and the I.R.S., A Night at the Nutcracker) bring their e-mail comedy of errors, You've Got Hate Mail, back to the Triad in an open-ended run after multiple sold-out performances.

Guest-stars from television and film will continue to guest star in the hit comedy the NY Post calls "The perfect bedroom farce."

HATE MAIL CASTYou've Got Hate Mail is Van Zandt & Milmore's comic answer to A.R. Gurney's Love Letters. Love "bytes" all when an extra-marital affair goes horribly wrong, thanks to a juicy e-mail left sitting on a desktop. The story is told entirely in e-mails from laptop computers, although the play does manage to have an unforgettable chase scene—thanks to Blackberries and iPhones. "It doesn't get better than this!" Show Business. (Above: “The Cast” L to R: Fran Solgan, Billy Van Zandt, Glenn Jones, Jane Milmore, Barbara Bonilla)

billy & janeVan Zandt & Milmore are the authors of 23 plays published worldwide with Samuel French and translated into multiple languages around the globe. Van Zandt's solo play The Property Known as Garland, which starred Adrienne Barbeau  as Judy Garland, broke house records at the Actor's Playhouse in its initial Off-Broadway run.

Their television and film projects have brought them Emmy nominations, People's Choice Awards and NAACP Image Awards for their writing and producing on I Love Lucy: The Very First Show, Martin and The Hughleys. The playwrights also appear in the production, which co-stars Glenn Jones  , Barbara Bonilla and Fran Solgan. Gary Shaffer (High School Reunion: The Musical) directs.
