FARMSTEAD ARTS HOSTS ARTsee EXHIBIT, WORKSHOPS, CAMPS

A weekend of painting and exhibits opens the

Caren Olmsted FACARTsee Sneak Preview Exhibit and Sale

WHEN: July 23-24 through August 20
WHERE:
Farmstead Arts located at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.  The weekend will open with the Plein Air “Paint Out” where artists of any media are invited to come to Farmstead Arts at any time to be inspired to create works of art.  The “paint out” will continue through Sunday, July 24, at 1 PM.  On Sunday from 1-4 PM there will be a reception to open the ARTsee exhibit and sale featuring artwork, live music, refreshments, and a silent auction.  The exhibit runs through August 20.

The ARTsee Sneak Preview Exhibit and Sale will feature 23 local artists from the Somerset Hills area with over 50 works in variety of media. The artists include Alex Bigatti, Filip Everaert, Frank Gubernat, Hilary Klimek, Cinder LeDell, Kristina Lloyd, Rabbi Yitzchok Moully, Beth Murphy, Caren Frost Olmsted, Letty Oratowski, Frank Pietrucha, Lorraine Regan, Nancy Robinson, Mavash Saba of Basking Ridge; Jeff Bosie, Holly Fazelat, Susan Gast, Brigid Glynn-Young, Patrick Healy, Gail Mardfin Michelle and Lorenzo Marigliano of Bernardsville; Susanna Kopchains of Far Hills; and Joanne Devine of Elizabeth.

The ARTsee show is a preliminary event that will lead into the first Bernardsville-Basking Ridge Artists Studio Tour on Sunday, October 2.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit Farmstead Arts.

WORKSHOPS & CAMPS
Farmstead Arts has several workshops and camps available during the summer.  Two contemporary collage workshops by artist Susan Antin will be offered on Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 18 from 10 AM to 2:30 PM.  Antin will also offer two colored pencil drawing workshops on Thursday, August 25 and Wednesday August 31 from 10 AM to 2:30 PM.  These workshops are for teens and adults. Artist Andrea Gianchighia of Bedminster will teach the Wildlife Painting Workshop on Saturday, August 20, from 10 AM to 1 PM for teens and adults.  To learn more about the wildlife workshop and to register, visit http://wildlifepainting.eventbrite.com.

Weaving Camp PhotoOn August 1-5 from 1-4 PM Weaving Connections at Farmstead Arts will offer a camp, open to children entering grades 2-5, that will incorporate weaving and nature exploration with other camp activities.  Farmstead Arts Artist-in-Residence Michelle L. Marigliano, who works with Young Audiences of New Jersey guiding teachers in the use of creative movement in the classroom, is the camp instructor.  To learn more and register, visit http://fasummercamp.eventbrite.com.
