CHESTER THEATRE GROUP: "SONGS OF A SUMMER NIGHT

One of the finest community theaters in New Jersey, The Chester Theatre Group of The Black River Playhouse presents Songs of a Summer Night, opening Friday, July 16, and running through Sunday, July 25.

This musical evening will include choral arrangements and group performances from such shows as Les Miserables, Porgy & Bess, Fiddler on The Roof, A New Brain and Songs of a New World, conducted by Perry Award-winning musical director Clifford Parrish.

The group of 26 performers (The Black River Singers) includes Karen Cantor, D’ani Dopson, Jeff Dopson, Jeffrey Fiorello, Michael Foley, Ellen Fraker-Glasscock, Barbara Haag, Mark Happel, Eric Harper, Lamont Hill, Robert Jacobson, Julie Jacoby, Scott Jacoby, Tina Kaye, Jodi Maloy, Rich Maloy, Claudia Metz, Alice Regan-Moynahan, Roseann Ruggiero, Christina Ryan, Stuart Scheer, Robert Stone, Ericka Traugh, Roxanna Wagner, Julie Waldman-Stiel and Dave Villepique.

The Black River Singers will perform selections from composers such as George and Ira Gershwin, David Shire and Frank Loesser, among others.

Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, July 17, 23, 24, at 8 PM and on Sundays July 18 and 25, at 2 PM. The Chester Theatre Group's Black River Playhouse is located at the corner of Grove and Maple Streets in the borough of Chester, New Jersey. Parking is free and there are many fine restaurants along Main Street.
