         The 18th Annual
        Madison Holiday Arts Festival

        The Baroque
        Orchestra of New Jersey is excited to return to the Madison Community
        Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, Madison, NJ, for the Madison
        Holiday Arts Festival presented by The Madison Arts
        & Culture Alliance. 
         Admission to all events
        is free — join us and celebrate the holidays together. 
         Friday, November
        24 
         12:00-1:00 PM -
        Pianist Peter Toth will present the exciting and
        expressive music of Franz Liszt.
        Peter has performed recitals and orchestral concertos internationally,
        specializing in the works of Franz Liszt. 
        1:30-2:30 PM -
        Pianists John Pivarnik and Nan Childress Orchard
        will present a special 4-hand piano arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker
        Suite. John has performed often with BONJ - as a soloist and
        playing Baroque continuo parts. Nan has been featured in recent New
        Music concerts. 
        3:00-4:00 PM -
        John Pivarnik is joined by vocalists Teresa Giardina and Deborah
        Fennelly for a recital of arias and songs from opera and The Great
        American Songbook. Roles Teresa has performed with BONJ have included
        Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Prince Orlovsky (Die
        Fledermaus). She has also sung with Eastern Opera and Opera Theater of
        Montclair. 
         4:30-5:30 PM -
        Guitarist Stanley Alexandrowicz returns to perform
        selections from his recently released Elegia Classics CD of the
        compositions of Maestro Robert W. Butts 
        and music by GIrolamo
        Frescobaldi, Manuel Ponce, and Napolean Coste. Stanley has performed
        concertos by Joaquin Rodrigo and Vaclav Kucera as well as the premiere of Guitar Concerto by
        Maestro Butts. 
         Saturday, November
        25 
        12:00-1:00 PM -
        The Ionian Sextet Wind Ensemble will perform Wolfgang
        Amadeus Mozart's Serenade in Eb and other works. The musicians
        of the sextet are principal wind players with BONJ and have performed
        concerts together internationally. 
        1:30-2:30 PM -
        Violinist Anna David and Violist Laura Layton
        will perform music of Ludwig van Beethoven
        and others. Laura has been with BONJ for almost twenty years. Anna made
        her BONJ debut this season. 
        3:00-4:00 -
        Pianist John Pivarnik will be joined by Soprano
        Emily Thompson and Tenor Dmitri Zigrino performing music of
        Ralph Vaughan Williams and popular favorites. Emily Thompson is
        director of In Mid Air Productions, has starred in and directed shows
        such as Wilde's Wild West, and has written the libretto for
        several musical theater works for young artists. 
          
        4:30-5:30 - The
        Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey under the baton of
        Maestro Robert W. Butts will close the festival with music of the
        Baroque and modern eras as well as holiday
        selections.
