In commemoration of Genocide Awareness Month
The Institute of
Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Raritan Valley Community College
will present an online educational series
Genocide Has No Boundaries
Fridays, April 14, 21 and 28, May 5 and Just Added May
19
from 10:00 am to 11:00 am EDT.
The series, which is
free of charge and open to the public, will address current-day
genocides in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. It is being
facilitated by Dr. Ellen Kennedy, Executive Director of World Without
Genocide.
Students and
community members will learn about the geography and events that have
unfolded around the world that have led to the situations being
confronted today. The program will focus on current-day concerns in
Ukraine, Syria, China, India, and Sudan.
We have added an extra program for this series: "Sudan: Climate, Conflict, and State
Collapse." On Friday, May 19th, at 10 am, we will discuss
the rapidly unfolding events in Sudan and the impact for people in
the country and throughout the entire region.
