With the holidays approaching, the
Frick would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your
enthusiasm and support in 2021. Between the momentous opening of our
temporary home, Frick Madison, and all-time records
for online engagement, we are more grateful than ever to you and the
entire Frick community.
We invite you to ring in the New Year by revisiting
our acclaimed 2020–21 series Cocktails with a
Curator. All sixty-five episodes—featuring rich
insights from our curators on works in the collection paired with
festive cocktail recipes—can be streamed for free on our YouTube channel.
Please
note, Frick Madison will close at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New
Year's Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Living
Histories: Queer Views and Old Masters
Frick Madison, Second Floor
On view now, Salman Toor's Museum Boys (through January 16) and
Doron Langberg's Lover
(through January 23) can be found in the galleries at Frick Madison
paired with the iconic Old Master works that inspired them. The
paintings are the first two in a series of four juxtapositions to be
installed as part of the Frick's current project Living
Histories: Queer Views and Old Masters.
Langberg's
Lover,
seen here, responds to Hans Holbein's 1527 painting Sir Thomas More
and explores themes of tactility and closeness.
Join a
Frick educator for an online dialogue on Langberg's work in an upcoming session of Continue the Conversation
on January 13.

Bellini
and Breuer,
Odes to Light
Light
is a theme that threads throughout the collection, but nowhere does
it appear so arrestingly at Frick Madison as in the juxtaposition
between Bellini’s St.
Francis and Breuer’s window.
