This Friday, April 3, join us for a wondrous, inspiring evening at home! Tune in on Facebook at 7 p.m. for the world premiere screening of the iconic American opera The Mother of Us All, a MetLiveArts production performed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art earlier this year.
Presented in collaboration with The Juilliard School and the New York Philharmonic and led by some of today's most dynamic and pioneering young artists working in opera, this fully staged production—set in the Museum's soaring Charles Engelhard Court in the American Wing—imaginatively chronicles the story of Susan B. Anthony and the women's suffrage movement. With music by Virgil Thomson and libretto by Gertrude Stein, the vivid, gripping story mirrors many of today's continuing struggles for the civil rights of people disenfranchised on the basis of gender, race, and sexuality.
