The program, conducted by Music Director Chris Shepard, radiates the warmth and joy of Christmas. It interweaves traditional English Carols - the “Sussex Carol,” “Masters in this Hall” “In the Bleak Midwinter” - with those of France, Germany, Spain and Japan. Handel even shares his beloved “Hallelujah Chorus,” while John Rutter brings his charming “Shepherd’s Pipe Carol,” and Martin Sedek, the Associate Conductor of Masterwork, offers an evocative new piece, “O Magnum Mysterium.”

Metropolitan Opera Regional Finalist Casandra LaMotte graces the concert with “O Holy Night,” and mezzo-soprano Mary Pat Finucane, no stranger to Masterwork audiences, shines in Messiah’s “O Thou that Tellest.” Soloist Nancy Chao, soprano is also in the spotlight as are the members of the audience who at several points during this festive evening will join the chorus in singing familiar carols.

Holiday Concert of Carols is the perfect way for you and your family to welcome the holiday season - delightful carols, audience participation and the enchantment of a candle-lit Silent Night.
