DCF 1.0Faces of India, an exhibition of up close and personal photographic portraits, were distilled from four visits Theo made to India.

“As arresting and unique as the faces in this exhibition are, they do not even begin to represent the 1.1 billion people in India I did not meet,” says Theo. “No visitor is every left unmoved by the unimaginable beauty and pain of India, one of the most exotic countries on earth. I was captured by every city, temple, school, and street, and most especially, by the gentility and grace that permeates daily life in this country. Despite the hardship that surrounds every person photographed in this show, no one viewed my interest or my camera as an intrusion. My hope is for viewers to step back and view the portraits as ethnic melodies of vibrant color, and then to step up close to see these clear-eyed individuals, who project their private victory over life’s difficulties. The eyes are the windows of the soul, so spend a moment with each of the souls captured here.”

Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 am - 10 pm; Friday and Sunday, 9 am – 4 pm; closed Saturday and Jewish holidays.
