Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center will present a double-bill holiday program at the Old Franklin Schoolhouse in Metuchen, NJ.

First up, at 4 PM, is a staged reading of Dragonfly Artistic Director Catherine LaMoreaux's original play Home for Christmas.  A bittersweet comedy-drama about a patriarch with Alzheimer's, and his family’s battles over moving him into a nursing, Home for Christmas will make you laugh, cry, and be grateful for the ones you love.  This staged reading will feature Equity actors and others from both NYC and the surrounding areas.  The play is being developed with an eye towards eventually being fully produced as a mainstage show.

A reception with hors d'oeuvres will follow the reading.

At 8 PM, get ready for a glittering night of music and banter as Dragonfly presents its First Annual Fun and Fundraising Cabaret, titled Home for the Holidays. This cabaret will feature holiday, musical theatre, folk, and pop songs sung by Dragonfly and Metuchen performers, including Russell Dolan as the emcee, Producing Associate Matt Holbert, Danny Adlerman, Laurel Andersen, Emily Erickson, Rosemary Wall and Anna Paone. The cabaret will raise money for Dragonfly’s future productions.
