4th Wall presentS a Composers’ Showcase featuring the works of some of New Jersey’s best and brightest new musical theatre composers.
This evening concert will feature both stand-alone pieces and songs from newly penned musicals and will be performed by instrumentalists and singers from Broadway and from the 4th Wall family of performers.

Broadway performers include Jennifer Sanchez who appeared in Ghost, the Musical, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and a revival of West Side Story, all on Broadway, and Liz McCartney who appeared in Broadway revivals of Annie and South Pacific, as well as in the original Broadway casts of Taboo, Dance of the Vampires and Thoroughly Modern Millie

Some of the pieces will be accompanied by piano only, others by up to a nine-piece live band.  Patrons will be presented with a wide variety of music styles, ranging from contemporary musical theatre to Eastern European folk to disco soul to rock. The stories of the new shows include working moms, gamers, refugees, artist lovers, a physicist and Peter Pan.

4th Wall Artistic Director Kate Swan is excited by this show. “People write musical theatre songs and develop new shows all the time,” says Swan. “But they get relatively few opportunities to show their works-in-development in front of an excited, eager, attentive audience.”

Composers Include: David Maglione and Tomas Ruiz, Gonzalo Valencia and
Michael Campbell, Matt Bittner, Colby Dezelick and Mark De La Rosa, Kevin M. Lynch, Liz McCartney, Meg Zervoulis

In addition to hearing a couple of new musical "pitches," in which composing teams will present a segment of one of their latest new works-in-progress, audience members will have the opportunity to respond and provide feedback via comment cards, and if they would like, private post-show conversations with the composers.
