CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH THE SOMERSET HILLS COMMUNITY CHORUS

Join Music in the Somerset Hills for a holiday celebration with the Somerset Hills Community Chorus led by Artistic Director Stephen Sands and accompanied by organ and brass. The concert will feature the Rutter Gloria and a Christmas carol sing. Other works being performed are In dulci jubilo being performed by professional a capella singers and organist Brian Harlow along with the brass ensemble. Two settings of O Magnum Mysterium follow, one by T. L. Victoria and another by Giovanni Gabrieli. One final piece Vom Himmel hoch, a toccata by Garth Edmundson will round out the first half before Rutter’s magnificent piece for chorus, Gloria. The concert will end with a carol sing including Hark the Herald Angels Sings, Joy to the World, The First Noel and other favorites accompanied by organ and brass with arrangements by Zachary Wadsworth.

This is the third performance of the Music in the Somerset Hills (MISH) 2014-2015 Concert Series and the first for the chorus this season.

This concert is presented by Music in the Somerset Hills which is an organization dedicated to education, artistry and community through music. Its mission is to provide musical experiences of the highest quality to those who live and work in the Somerset Hills and the surrounding communities. Each year a concert series of world-class musical performances is offered at local venues. American soprano, Julianne Baird was featured in the first of MISH’s Concert Series on October 5th at Trump National Golf Club at the organization’s annual fundraiser, and November’s recital featured award winning local singers and keyboardist.
