“Fascinating,” “terrifying” and “romantic” are words that perfectlydescribe the spellbinding story of the nocturnal Count who survives on the blood of the living. Stoker Dracula tells of a timeless evil set loose in an unsuspecting modern world. It is a tale of seduction and surrender, sensuality and danger. Dracula stands as perhaps the most influential horror novel ever written.

Act II’s artistic director, Richard Norman, has adapted this new version of the 1897 Gothic horror story. Over the years since, theater, film and television have deviated from the central horror of Stoker’s story. This version does not. The complexity of the novel is not discarded, bringing the full tale of the vampire, in all its terror and dark allure, to the stage in a fast-moving theatrical work. It foregrounds the clash between good and evil while providing the audience with plenty of scares, thrills and chills perfect for the Halloween season.
